STARBUCKS - WHAT I LOVE, INSIDE THE CUP

Hi dear readers,

it's 2 a.m. here, not tired and I decided to tell you about the book I've just finished reading.

I don't think you know one of my greatest passions when I go to the United States.
You have to know that I really love stopping at Starbucks, queuing and looking at their blackboard and deciding what to drink. I love to pick up my coffee and sipping it as if I was drinking liquid gold.
It could sound strange for an Italian person to say so, but what can I do?
I simply love Starbucks. It is a place where I relax, where I feel comfort and where I can rest with my drink in hand.

And guess what???? I have just read a book about Starbucks!!
This is the book:

The title is "Inside the cup. Translating Starbuck into a Drinkable Language" and the author is Kenneth Brown. 

I immediately felt interest in this publication, (for the above mentioned reasons) and I was satisfied with it. 

Kenneth is a man who worked in Starbucks and, while training partners in the store, he kept on untiring  studying the close relationship between Starbucks staff and customers and, more generally, observing the behavior and the attitude of customers towards Starbucks. 

The book is a real how to use manual. It explains in details the most famous drinks available in the store, the ingredients, the possible modifications a customer can do to his/her drink, the difficulties arising from the extremely precise and complicated orders you may happen to place. 

I found the book really interesting and also funny at the same time. 

It is the very first time I come across such a "different" how to use manual.

I used my pencil to underline all the interesting passages in the book. 

Kenneth is very capable in transferring his knowledge to readers. I am a Starbucks customer so I am the perfect reader of this book. 

Apart from finding it very useful in order to understand what's behind a Starbucks desk, it helped me understand that it was not me that I could not pronounce the name of my drink correctly, it was just a question of understanding what I was asking for. 

If you are able to read English, and if you, like me, are a Starbucks lover, you need to read this book and have it with you when you travel, in order to get 100% correct the drinks you want. 

I will not tell you more about the book, which is a funny and smart (really smart), written using a fast nevertheless intelligent language.

sono le 2 di mattina qui e non sono per nulla stanca... per questo eccomi qui, che vi parlo della mia ultimissima lettura. 

Non credo che voi siate a conoscenza di una delle mie più grandi passioni di quando mi reco negli Stati Uniti.

Dovete sapere che adoro fermarmi allo Starbucks, fare la coda, studiare la loro lavagnetta nera e ordinare cosa voglio. Mi piace davvero aspettare il mio drink e sorseggiarlo come se fosse oro liquido.

Può sembrare strano tutto ciò detto da un'italiana, ma cosa ci posso fare?

Starbucks mi piace davvero tanto! E' un posto dove mi rilasso sempre, dove mi sento a mio agio e dove posso riposare con i mio caffè in mano.

E indovinate un po'????? Il libro che ho appena finito di leggere è proprio su Starbucks!!

Il titolo è "Inside the cup. Translating Starbuck into a Drinkable Language" (Dentro una tazza. Tradurre Starbucks in una lingua bevibile) e l'autore è Kenneth Brown. 

Mi sono da subito interessata a questa pubblicazione (per i motivi che ho già citato) e sono davvero molto soddisfatta della lettura. 

Kenneth ha lavorato presso Starbucks e, mentre formava varie figure professionali, osservava instancabile le strette relazioni tra Starbucks e i suoi clienti e, più in generale, il comportamento dei clienti verso Starbucks.  

Il libro è un vero e proprio manuale d'uso. Spiega nel dettaglio le bevande più famose e richieste nel negozio, gli ingredienti, le possibile modifiche che si possono apportare, le difficoltà derivanti dall'importanza di ordinare in maniera precisa e dettagliata. 

Ho trovato il libro estremamente interessante e simpatico allo stesso tempo. E' la prima volta che mi imbatto in un manuale d'uso così "diverso". 

Ho usato molto spesso la mia matita per segnare e prendere appunti. 

Kenneth è molto in gamba e riesce a trasmettere le sue esperienze e la sua conoscenza ai lettori. Io sono una cliente Starbucks e quindi posso definirmi una lettrice perfetta per questa pubblicazione. 

Oltre a trovarlo molto utile per capire cosa si cela dietro un bancone Starbucks, il libro mi ha aiutata a capire come non stavo sbagliando nel pronunciare il nome del drink, ma era solo un problema di capire COSA stavo ordinando. 

Se siete capaci di leggere in inglese e se, come me, siete degli appassionati di Starbucks, dovete assolutamente leggere questo libro e portarlo con voi mentre viaggiate, per poter ordinare con soddisfazione tutti i drink che volete. 

Non vi voglio dire di più, leggete questo libro che è molto divertente e intelligente (davvero intelligente).
